Well, it’s official. Marks And Spencer Australia has launched its online store. On a balmy Sydney evening on Thursday set in a beautiful European home in the Eastern suburbs with a glowing aqua swimming pool, luscious green palm trees and some stylish guests, I had the pleasure of touring the beautiful property to view a range of items inside and out. The home was styled with the iconic brand’s latest on-trend products, from men’s and women’s fashion, to homewares, kids clothing and even active wear! Special guests included Rebecca Judd, Kate Waterhouse and Nadia Fairfax along with a host of journalists, bloggers and industry people.
I’ve put together the following list of 10 gift ideas to explore at Marks And Spencer online to give you an idea of the breadth of quality products the British retailer is making available to buy down under. What I like about the online store is it’s a bit of a one-stop shop in a good way – you can shop for your latest fashion trends and at the same time pick up some quality homewares to freshen up your house.
After spending a couple of years in London, I always admired the clean lines and sleek fit of British suits. There’s a good range of styles in a number of different colours to keep your wardrobe current and fashionable, including a Saville Row inspired range. All prices from $100 to $1,000 for the high-quality Saville Row collection. Pair one of these beauties with some RayBan glasses and you’ll be looking great!
For the Men, the range consists of swim shorts from $25-$50, sweatshirts from $49, lace up trainers from $78 and the stylish trademark Stormwear collection including Quilted jackets from $97.
From Clocks, to Ready-Made Curtains, to Cushions & Throws, Ornaments & Figurines, Photo Frames, Door Stops, Artificial Flowers and Stationery, your home accessories are certainly catered for here.
Plenty of choices including wash bags, messenger bags, leather briefcases, holdalls and rucksacks from $35 to $292. There’s also leather belts from $39 and Hats (including some cool Panama hats), as well as a range of Scarves and Gloves.
WOMEN’S MATERNITY WEAR
It’s hard to find here in Australia, so there’s a basic range of tops, dresses, trousers, jeans, leggings and bras.
Needing a new doona set, mattress protector or pillow cases, the range has certainly got you covered.
There were some distinctive monotone coloured dinner settings which really stood out. The list is endless here, from Bakeware to Cookware to Crockery, Table Linen & Placemats, Aprons & Tea Towels, Kitchen Storage, Trays, Teapots, Cups and Mugs.
Guys, don’t be shy! Pick up a gift for the other half without having to go in store. M&S is known for its quality, affordable lingerie, so it’s definitely worth a look. There’s even pyjamas, slippers and robs as well.
MEN’S ‘BRILLIANT BASICS’
Pure cotton, tailored Polo tops are from $30, easy to iron business shirts from $49, slim fit trousers $58 and the classic white t-shirt from $50 to name a few. There’s plenty of options from good quality to better quality.
There’s a whole range of clothing for newborns, toddlers and kids from 1-14 years old including favourite characters such as Pepper Pig, Frozen, Character Shop and Star Wars.
All in all, it’s looking like a good move from M&S to come over here, and I think us Aussies will really like the combination of quality and value, with a little bit of style thrown in!
